Just try to put some distance between you and the tv and you should be fine.

I could most likely do that, but I still need the monitor too do my general browsing too.

Or would I be best to buy a cheap 19" monitor.

Should work no problem.

If your serious about gaming though, you might not like the response refresh rate.

Well I'm writing this while using my tv from the couch, so it is definitely possible smile.gif . IF you do the most important thing to know is the " 'Win' + '+' " key combination as well as the "Win + -".

But don't do to much reading like this, because it will put some strain on your eyes.Yet still I'm reading my RSS feeds like this and OCN etc.

I would buy a cheap monitor. The 32" will be fine for gaming, but for any other task you're likely to struggle and hurt your eyes- especially if you are sitting close to the screen.

I just remembered I have a old dell 19" square LCD monitor, I could use it for my surfing, etc and then the TV for my gaming.

I may also stay on the look out for a cheap 2nd hand monitor. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/keilor-east/components/acer-20-computer-screen-monitor/1024029498 It's a shame it's so far away from me.

If it's a 1080p TV, it'll be 1920x1080, but the TV will take any resolution and stretch it across that screen size by default. I'm using a 32" 1080p TV as a monitor and have been for a while and I think it's ideal, any higher DPI at the same size would seem silly to me. Also go through the TV settings and see if you can set or label an input as PC and the TV should set up everything at it's end.

since you have it. go to picture options and see what comes up. even in the video option on the ps3 will tell you if you were the one to mention that you were using the ps3. My tv always tells me the resolution of the input on screen briefly.
I used to have my 32" 1080 at my desk and it barely fit below the bookshelf. I could spot each pixel but if that doesnt bother you then youre good

I'm most likely able to sell my Laptop to my grandpa for a good price and I'm able to increase my budget and buy myself a nice monitor. Win.
