A10 6800K vs FX 8320 + GTS 250

So I was thinking of doing an upgrade for my GF's aging 7750BE X2 system and want to keep this on the budget side. I keep hearing great things about pairing the A10 6800K with 8+ 2133 lower CL memory and going to town on the overclock.
This would be for a (currently sub 1080 read: 1600X900 screen) light gaming rig that would ideally run modern games at high (not ultra). I saw several users using the 6800K as a CPU base running up to 7970s...so there must be an upgrade path as well.
I currently run a FX 8320 rig and AM VERY PLEASED WITH IT. My hardest hit budget cuts were SSD and GPU (I have a Geforce 275), but I see no real slowdown in games, albeit lack of DX11 support. The A10's IGPU HAS DX 11 support.

Which build would make more sense? The price of DDr3 ram has skyrocketed since I bought my system (45$ ALL IN for 8GB Sniper 1866 Gskill).
The current going rate for CL 10 2133 8GB is ~75 on sale. Which would be a better option?

8 cores with an aging GPU vs 4 cores with a more arguably modern GPU?

Thoughts?

I think PGTX is right man

but ..two things.. and im not saying no to the APU coz they're pretty good.

firstly you need some serious cooling if you want to spank that system. secondly rem.. that AMD APU's don't reg. (last I heard FM1) the correct temps.

but after saying all that.. flip go for it! these things perform great @ 720.. 1080.. not sure but I imagine with heavy OC like you say you could do it.

here's the factoids and figurines.

What is your budget? You could also consider the FX6300 and a Gtx 650Ti boost 2Gb.

I am working in CAD. As little as possible TBH. In the long term though, multi-threading on the 8320 will squash the 43/63XX series, and I think (based on my research) the A10 6800K.

How about adding a ~100 7770 (sale) to the 8320? Any subjective thoughts on whether this would outgun the 63XX (say 6350) with 650TI?

Thank you for your thoughts and the link smile.gif I shall read up as I have yet to read this one. I realize that Intel holds the crown for IPC and I am no fanboy of either side...but I really do like the idea of this all in one solution. I might just end up doing the usual mix and match thoughh
