Aye, it's whisper quiwet when it's not gaming or benching. Much impressed. deffo the way to go - no clue why people bother with fan controllers tbh.

Hi Doyll,

Thats a really cool connector you have there for the mini pwm's on the gpu's. Did you make this or can you buy them? It's just what im looking for.
It's custom made.

There are some adapters available out there, just be sure it has the right plug to go into GPU PCB header. I haven't used it but this looks like the beast.
Mini-PWM splitter to Mini PWM & normal PWM sockets. It has rpm leads from both GPU PWM and normal PWM sockets.

And use a 4-way PWM splitter with molex power connector. This is a good splitter made by GeLid.

I suggest removing the rpm lead from normal PWM socket or 4-way splitter master plug. Sometimes supplying both rpm signals to PWM header will confuse PWM as to what actual rpm is. biggrin.gif

First up, I've now got the following arrangement:

3x120mm Akasa Apache Blacks as intake
1x120mm Akasa Venom on CPU
1x140mm Akasa Apache as back vent

PWM splitter from CPU

I've got to say this is one of the best setups I've ever used. I've got another PWM splitter in case I need it for later, but for now I'm entirely happy.

On full blast and on idle, this is almost perfectly balanced - no air is drawn in OR vented from the gaping grille at the top of the machine, and it keeps the CPU within very respectable temp ranges. Akasa fans are far, far better than I expected at this price point and I'm very, very content with them. I always considered Akasa to be a fairly mediocre budget choice, but these fans are really, really good. In fact, unless I'm imagining things, I think the thermal profile of the Venom compares favourably to my Silent Typhoon 1850rpm, and it sure as heck does a better job of shoving air through my TRUE.

Anyway, I'm a PWM splitter convert and an Akasa convert. Thanks to all who contributed.

Only change I may make in future is to replace the front 3 Apaches with Venoms, but that's for another day.

The akasa venom is a cpu cooler, right? What fans were you using on them? I can presume you were using an AP-15 for your cpu cooler?

Hey.

I use a Thermalright TRUE 120mm CPU heatsink, with an Akasa Venom PWM 120mm fan on it.

Akasa Venom are similar to Apaches but are yellow and have ahigher RPM/static pressure.
