Can I Overclock My Opty 165 (CCBBE 0610) to 3.0 GHz using Corsair twinx1024-3200xlpt?

Thread Starter
I just got an Opty 165. As soon as I have my system stable at clock speeds, I plan on trying to get the maximum overock possible on air.

It is possible to overclock the Opty 165 to 3.0 ghz using Corsair Twinx 1024-3200xlpt?

If so, how?

I would appreciate any comments you may have on this...

Thanks!

That memory typically runs well up to around 250 MHz. Just keep the multiplier at stock, run the memory at 1:1, and you should be able to get up in that range without too much trouble. I have a set of that RAM, and it runs with very tight timings for TCCD, though it does not reach the extreme frequencies that some other TCCDs reach. Mine runs at 2-3-3-5 at 245 MHz, which is about the best I've seen short of voltage hungry BH-5.

Yes, maybe not at 1:1, but you should be able to.

The 165 only has a multi of 9 right? So you don't want to run it 1:1.

If you have a good HS/F like a TTBT, then this should work.

FSB 333
HT 3x
V core ( 1.55+)
RAM divider at 150 wich would make your RAM run at 249mhz, if your board has the 150 setting, if not you may have to run your RAM at 220mhz with a 133 divider.

Yeah, he would need some damn good cooling to run at a vcore that high.

You're gonna need to use a divider to run that ram...Unless you feel like you want really loose timings...3ghz = 334 FSB and above....So, your ram ain't gonna handle that..
