Raid 0 for recording w/ fraps, msi afterburner or dxtory?

I am building a new rig soon, when I first built my first rig 3 years ago I compromised in some areas. This time I want something a bit more powerful that doesn't lack in any area.

Something I really enjoy is making youtube videos, but my single mechanical drive I record to is fairly slow (spinpoint f3) Don't get me wrong it was highly recommended by this forum when I built my rig, but its old. I really want to build a new haswell pc inside a matx platform (gigabyte m5, gtx 780, 350d case) and I want to watercool it all. The only issue I'm having is space. I really want to run a fan controller so I'm not overpaying for crappy pwm fans when I already have 6 GT AP-15's. But it seems like there would not be enough room to mount a 30-35mm radiator, then mount a pump/radiator and fit the two drives between the psu in the case I like. I could put 2 drives in the 5.25 bays... but then I have no bays. I could use a bay reservoir and easily find space for the drives but then I don't have a controller for these fans which I find too loud at full blast. Somewhat of a dilemma.

I really was keen on setting up raid 0 but does anyone record on a single drive right now that seems it good enough? I want to be able to record games at good settings and right now in most games the only bottleneck is my HDD. I have games on my ssd and recording software/folder on my hdd but its not enough this drive only has about 110mb per second from the dxtory test which i don't think is enough anymore.

i think the biggest problem is your recording settings.
try using Lagarith Lossless Video Codec http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html
I can record at 1080p 30fps or 720p at 60fps solid no problems and my hard drive only benched at 78 MB/s
