I was a console gamer from the age of about 6 to 29 , im now 30 and had my gaming pc for over a yr. I didnt even own a ****ty pc until i was 26 so i was coming from a long way back with my knowledge of computers.
My answer to the original question would be choices. You have so many choices with PC gaming compared to console its not funny.
Personally I can't get use to keyboard and mouse so guess what, I use a 360 controller. 90% of games these days have native support for controllers. Prefer the ps3 controller? You can use that instead.
Had a few mates around and 1 was using ps3 controller and couple of us using 360 controllers. Can't do that on console. I prefer gaming on a monitor as well. But you can game on a HDTV jus fine as well if you choose.
If you want 60fps in 1080p or 1440p its your choice, you don't have to wait 7 yrs for Sony to say its time. If your happy with 30fps on medium settings its your choice.
Graphics are ****loads better which was my original reason for getting a gaming PC. In the yr that I have had it I have gone from a nvidia 560, to a 670 to a 7970 to crossfire 7970's, upgraded motherboard, ram, PSU, ssd, fans, heatsinks cpu and the case, and gone through literally about 7 different monitors, it is addictive but you can do whatever you want. Or as little as you want. Choices.
