Headphone shopping. Please give me a hand!

Thread Starter
Hey just quickly wondering if anyone had any problems whilst using or owning the Corsair Vengeance 2000, and if so suggest against purchasing it. I am looking at headsets for gaming purposes mainly, while i can use my micro hi-fi for music and such. I want a headset that delivers true surround sound, for hearing footsteps and fully immersive sound. I also want a high quality build in microphone, to talk to my buddies. I want really good build quality, while maintaining superior comfort. Is there a better competitor to the Vengeance 2000?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I would also prefer a wireless headset. Just because i like less wires tongue.gif

I would advise against wireless because they are quite prone to breaking and have a load of other issues.

What exactly is your budget?

Well, it seems as though the Corsair Vengeance 2000 goes for around $100. For that price, you can get a really nice pair of stereo headphones, and a microphone. On these forums they often recommend the Audio-Technica AD700 for gaming, and after giving it a good listen- I agree that it has several of the attributes required for a great pair of gaming headphones. Unfortunately, if you want the highest fidelity for your dollar, you won't be getting an included microphone, nor will it be wireless... The Zalman ZM-MIC1 is a really nice and sensitive microphone, however I don't think that it is very much of a "clip-on". I have my eyes on the Antlion Mod Mic! Sure, the Antlion and the AD700 will be more dear than the Vengeance 2000, but it will be worth it, believe me!
