XoticPC (MSI GE40 20C 008) vs Maingear Pulse 14 - Page 2

For the RAM I couldnt really tell you, I have been out of the game fro a while on that one. First you will need to find out what can of BIOS the laptop comes with and if it will even allow for overclocking the RAM. If it does, rule of thumb is that when you add more voltage it will add more heat as a bi-product. I would wager 1866 to be plausible, but you will have to do that research. Sorry man

For your SSD though, I would try and lookup the make and model to confirm what kind of 4K random speeds it gets against other models, as this is the main selling point of SSDs in the first place. If you had to pick between the two though, I would look for something with more read speeds. Writes are mainly done within installs and when moving larger files around, otherwise you wont see too much of write speeds for the casual user

Stay away from the Maingear!

There's a prototype review on Notebookcheck.net and the temps are too high for gaming operation! Stay clear of it! The 13" Sager is definitely the better choice! thumb.gif

By the way, HIDevolution is a fine website, isn't it? I won't be facing any problems from them like shipping or otherwise?

EDIT: I'll just start a new thread about this; how do I end this one?

Just let it die into the web forums of old. The only threads you should close are the marketplace ones

That one will help me with my Korean caps, now I just got to find a gaming laptop that someone can repaint to pink and white T.T Thats going to be a tough one lol
