fx 4130 vs i5 3470

hi,
i am trying to build a rig on a budget for a friend...he is mainly going to gaming, doing some photoshop, after effects and premeire pro stuff....these are the 2 rigs that ihave planned...
this is what i have planned

1st rig:
fx 4130
cheap msi am3+ mobo
8gig ddr3 1333mhz ram
radeon 7870

2nd rig:
i5 3470
cheap h61 mobo
8gb ddr3 1333mhz
radeon 7870..

overclocking is out of the question....because overclocking mobo's cost too much...now he wants to get the fx 4130 because its pretty cheap...he mainly wants quad core amd/intel because thats enough for gaming except some titles...he could get an 8120 or an 8320 because they are similarly priced with the i5 but the extra 4 cores would be a waste for gaming....as gaming is the main purpose he wants to go with quad core...i told him about the i3 3220,but he said that dual core would suck for the editing work...so would the i5 make a huge difference in gaming vs the fx 4130....???..

An apu 5800k for hybrid cfx

i think hybrid crossfire isn't worth it...the cheapest apu available which supports hybdrd cfx in my country is the a6 3500...which pretty much performs way lower than the g2020 in terms of the per core performance...its not unlocked too...moreover it costs 30% more than the g2020....

I would get the I3, it will hold up better than the pentium CPU. And instead of a 6670 you should grab a 7750, they are roughly the same price and 7750 has better performance.

Your choice of cpu is fine, everyone is always gonna try and get you to spend more. I had a celeron G540 and used to play BF2 on integrated graphics @ 1280x720 so you will be fine with you choices on parts. If anything, if you can wait just wait for sales on the parts a tier above what you've chosen.

hmm...yeah..i also think that g2020 is enough..simply because it uses new technology...most games aren't hyper threaded so that's not so much of use...

i post on forums simply because i am not a 'know it all'....but amd apu's simply suck in terms of per core performance..they are mainly made for the people who don't want to spend money on a discreet gpu.....amd the hybrid crossfire is just a gimmick...if apu+low end gpu hybrid cfx were some awesome, everyone would start doing it...many people don't even bother to do normal cfx or sli simply because of micro-stutter,extra heat and many other problems....and the so called hybrid cfx has many many bugs....i have checked many benchmarks on this topic...so there is point convincing me to buy an apu+low end gpu combo...
