i always prefer local bro but something you get really good deals online too just have to be updated properly wink.gif

Ya that's also true. Flipkart was selling the cooler master seidon 120XL for Rs 6,000 but I think locally it's around Rs 7,000.

There is no Athlon II x3 270. It's the Athlon II x2 270. Things are as expensive where I stay. I'm from India. The core i3 3220 is the same price as the FX6300. If you get the FX6300, grab it.

i really dont get where you get that BS where APUs are for low end that doesnt want to spend on a GPU.

look at it objectively, you get a quad core that trades blows with a quad threaded i3 and beats it at real multithreading task and costs about the same. mind you intels are APUs as well considering they too have integrated graphics.

yes i'd agree it is not as good as intel for single threaded tasks but still plenty fast enough and besides its yr 2013 now not yr 2000 and games do benefit from 4 cores.

with that as a basis its very valid to CFx for improvement in performance or drop in a better card like a 7770 and not use onboard. if not even the integrated GPU itself have enough performance for 720p gaming which means investing in a GPU is optional

all you need as a minimal budget system for 720p gaming is:

A10 APU
FM2 motherboard
1866mhz or faster ram

celeron is so castrated in its cache its pointless unless inside a fileserver doing nothing. if insist on a dual then atlest get a pentium

actually the websites i mentioned are made by the local shops...i am sorry if i have been rude...and i know that the quad core apu's would give a boost in terms of video editing and stuff like that...but as i have said before,he is going to be doing very little editing....and saving as much money as possible is the most important thing here....this isn't usa where you get superb black friday deals and there are no microcenter's here...fx 6300 costs way more than i3 3220 in my country...moreover when buying an fx-6300,you get an urge for overclocking and have to buy a better motherboard which would cost a fortune....and even if he had the money to buy an awesome mobo, the mobo revisions are the oldest...and most am3+ motherboards whith old revisions have the v-droop issue...i think you have been mislead....the g2020 isn't a celeron..it's a pentium....and for 720p gaming i think that an a10 is simply not enough...as you said,i need to pair it with some snappy memory but only trashy memory with really slow clock speeds and bad timings are available in my country...some enthusiasts sell their high speed memory like the corsair vengeance, but he won't buy used items....and intel's so called hd igp's are only made for watching videos and stuff like that....and if i wanted discreet gfx,why would i spend such money on an apu????..apu's have good igp's which are enough for light gaming and stuff but apu's like the a10 cost a lot...so a more powerful dual core such as the g2020+discreet would be nicer...and as thi has been said for that cpu is pressurized more under low resolution,i think the apu which has slow cores would suffer...and gaming is the most important thing here...more cores don't mean better gaming performance...only a some games use gazillion cores...video editing will receive the least priority by him so quad core apu would be worthless in terms of the dough he is spending...i hope you understand my concerns and thoughts.....

OP people here have been nice to you and advised you but your persistent with your views. The g2020 isn't better than an A10 apu in gaming. Please do not be mislead. This is the truth whether you accept it or not. Get whatever comes within your budget cause people here have given you the pros and cons so ultimately now it's all up to you and want your friend wants. All the best!
