Bricking EVGA SC ACX 780 by flashing svl07 bios?

Thread Starter
I flashed the vBIOS here: http://forum.techinferno.com/nvidia-video-cards/3632-nvidia-gtx-700-series-modified-vbios.html

The first time I accidentally flashed the regular version, so every time I booted up I saw some strange lines and corruption before a BSOD or shutdown.

I flashed back to the original bios after that. Later on, I flashed the SC ACX version and I had the same problem. I tried another DVI port with the same result. When I connected via HDMI, I just saw a black screen.

Is there something I'm not doing right?

Use nvflash for windows. I have never had a problem with it. I attached all the files you need. I created a folder on my c drive and put everything I just attached into it. Then put your bios.rom into that folder also. Then hold shift and somewhere within the folder right click and select open command window here. Then type -

nvflash --protectoff

nvflash -4 -5 -6 bios.rom (replace bios with whatever you name your bios and then.rom) I always name them something easy like single numbers which makes for less typing when flashing.

you might have to hit y once or twice when it asks you too. Then just reboot when it says complete. Also the protectoff command is just a one time thing to unlock the card.

thanks for taking the time to help me thumb.gif. I followed all your instructions exactly and I still got the same problem though frown.gif Actually I was using the windows version before too, but I started using DOS just to rule out any issues with windows.

Ya that sucks and is very strange. I have been flashing my classified like crazy and I did the same with my titans. I am not really sure what to do next. I wonder if it could be a corrupted windows install, or a corrupted card.

Do you have a screenshot of what the command window looks like when done.

Also does the card work perfectly on the stock bios.

Also are you restarting after the Flash and reinstalling drivers. Sometimes I get issues until I do a clean install of the drivers.

And have you ever flashed a card before this that went smoothly with this computer.
