Alcohol is actually pretty safe on electronic parts, as long as they get fully dry. If it's wet and creates static.. yeah that will be a problem.

Edit: I'm tired, most iso alcohol is not conductive.

You missed the biggest danger you can get your keyboard drunk! And yes I know but I was hoping to encourage him to use it in moderation.
