$500 AMD Build

Thread Starter
I would like to build a mixed environment of PC, Apple, Android, and PS3. For the latter two, it would be for accessing photos and music. I would like it to have drive redundancies, hence the reason for two hdd, and be upgradable to at least 4drives (eventually). Also, it needs to be in as small as possible and light on the power consumption (Gold certified PSU). So,

What do you think of this build for a file server?

Case: Node 304 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352027 $67.99
Mobo: ASRock FM2A85X-ITX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157357 $99.99
CPU: AMD A4-4000 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113343 $45.99
RAM: Corsair XMS 8GB 1600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233385 $69.99 + $20 MIR
PSU: Rosewill Capstone-450 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182066 $59.99
HDD: 2x WD Red 2TB w/ 5.25 to 3.5/2.5 adapter http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1386968 $223.96 (cheaper with adapter than without)
OS Drive: Sandisk Fit 16GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA12K0F12505 $15.95
OS: FreeNAS

Total after Shipping: $589.95

Anyway to make it less than $500?

Thanks

FM2 server builds always seem weird to me. It seems like you picked a few decent components but would be paying the premium for ITX variants. You could get away with paying noticeably less for a microATX or similar server.

You could probably skimp back on the RAM to 2-4 GB. For just sharing files and maintaining a mirrored array it probably won't even use >384 MB of RAM.

I like that case though.

4 hard drives in a mini ITX case? Not sure how you're going to fit all that.
