for the Ram if u want to go 16GB then do it like this 2x8gb so u will be able to add later on u can upgrade dont go 4x4gb that is bad will limit u for future upgrade, anyway for gaming it is true if u will use windows 7 The 8GB will be more then enough no game will need more,
but for windows 8 I heard lot of ppl saying it use more ram then windows 7 and for me I do gaming and the 8GB barley enough for me so what will happen if I go to wind8 also I am planing to go all out 32GB to make ram cache, but in ur case u must test how many applications u run same time and how many browsers etc.. u keep open side by side the game u play then check the that moment the memory u use ,
it is most important that u guys know that if some 1 say i am building this for gaming that doesn't mean he don't do multi tasking he might be like me I have crazy things open same time, so my ram reach the limit 7.6 used in task manager and I didn't even go for my extreme usage of video converting and recording etc.. coz I cant do it same time am runing my game (wow) coz of my ram and that is simply coz I keep softwares open and alt tab. etc..
For psu most important thing is OEM and the watts u need keep little bit extra specially if u planing to keep the rig and maybe get sli etc..
OMG YOU HAVE A KEYBOARD, USE IT!
Besides that, yes you want to go for a 4x4 option. Why? Because 4 x 4 = 16! But yes, 8GB is enough and I would say only fill 2 of the ram slots. The motherboard can only go dual channel anyhow.
Ok so here is what Im suggesting
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($279.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master RL-EB24-16FK-R1 60.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($179.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($205.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($72.99 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: Galaxy GeForce GTX 780 3GB Video Card ($649.99 @ NCIX US)
Case: Rosewill THRONE ATX Full Tower Case ($159.99 @ Newegg)
The ram can be overclocked, probably all the way up to 2133 (maybe, they claim it can). I spent the extra $6 to get the Maximus motherboard due to it being alot better. I also changed out the cooler to the Eisburg. Why? Because it can be upgraded down the road. So if you want to eventually watercool your GPU, you can
I also switched the case because I personally think this is a better built case, I hear bad things about the Phantom 830 all the time.
