Galaxy S2 micro SD card compatibility with UHS-1 ???

Hi guys,

Looking at two cards.

Sandisk Ultra Class 10

Sandisk Extreme pro UHS-1

I know the Sandisk ultra class 10 will work in the phone but not sure about the extreme pro.

If the extreme pro does work I am under the impression that it will not reach anywhere near the maximum speed that the card is capable of but the card will still still perform much faster then the class 10.

Can anyone validate this?

Am I wasting my money?

Thanks!!

Phone is the Galaxy Samsung S2 purchased in Australia.

uhs-1 is backwards compatible so it will work but it will not be utilized to it's full potential, just like plugging a sata 3 ssd into a sata 1 slot.

what capacity? is this sdhc? or sdxc? sdhc and sdxc are not backwards compatible, i don't know if galaxy s2 supports sdhc and sdxc.

uhs-1 is way overkill for galaxy s2, my galaxy s3 records 1080p videos just fine using class 4 sd card.

First card

Second card

Both are SDSHC.

Capacity is not a MAJOR issue. The reason I am thinking about the faster card is because I want the phone to be as snappy as possible. Not sure if I would see much of a difference though.

At this point I am thinking I might just go with the class 10 to be on the safe side.

way overkill for your phone but yeah it will work fine, you won't gonna see any difference compared to class 4 though

I agree , that 8 gig is not worth it, you won´t see any benefit over class 4 on your mobile, only if you transfer large quantity s of data frequently will you notice the class difference.

I wrote a small explanation of the differences of applications for Speed Class a while ago if your interested..
