Yep, and now that's why I think the Ubuntu edge would benefit from being $100 (and $20 cheaper than the 32 GB iPhone 5 if it was lessened) cheaper to get. If you can get 120 GB of storage, and ALL of the other features of the phone, then it would really show how gimped storage wise and pretty much feature wise all off the other smartphones are. Unfortunately, I won't be able to say this for sure 100% since we won't know the production cost of the Ubuntu edge until all of the final specs are committed. Also, a lot of people aren't even going to think this is such a good deal since they only see the subsidized costs of these phones (basically normal consumers, not OCN members, which I'm pretty sure out number us). If I didn't explain that to someone while talking about this, then they'd think I was crazy to say that a $730 ubuntu edge is cheaper than a "$300" 32GB iPhone 5. Apple a few years ago was at least nice enough to increase size capacities every gen they released, but they really don't do that anymore. I'm not even going to count the ipad size increase to 128 GB (but I will acknowledge it) since the price is $800, a whopping increase of $300 over the base model. I can buy a 256 SSD drive for 100 less, and soon a 512 GB one n probably half a year.
I want the Ubuntu edge to succeed so it'll push other companies to suck it up, and actually upgrade their phones with available technologies. The one thing that really makes me mad though, is most of all the gimped storage space on these things. That's one big reason I would want an edge, it would be as big as my boot drive! I can store a lot of my digital library on that thing. I hope they'll lower the price by at least $100, or heck, bringi back the $600 option and refund some people if they want some of their money back. That could very well drive their fundraising up to a sustainable level.
