They get 3.2 ghz.. Thats higher than all other AMD chips have gotten on air... How is it not overclockable? Of course FX's dont have too much headroom, they are already pushing the clock limits of the chip series lol.

No point comparing them to previous AMD chips, they're trying to combat the conroe. It's expensive and not that overclockable, so you're only really getting what you're paying for, something most people on here are not really used to when it comes to CPU's. It's just looking a bit expensive for second best.

Previous chips? The FX74 IS a the "old" chips..

It's a 90nm A64 on a socket F. It is a old CPU.

wow, just call me the fire starter...lol, What I was stating about Vista fixing the 4x4 problems was in reference to the fact that even though it is a dual cpu system, each cpu has its own independant stick of memory, which from what i get from that article, windows xp cannot take advantage of..

You should be called the Human Torch now. Everywhere you go things catch on fire for almost no reason.

By the time AMD gets to 45nm, Intel will be in angstroms.

Hm, AMD really needs to create a newer version of it, rather than take what they have and stick them together... Gotta admit, I'm kinda disappointed in them. Hope they figure it out soon...

They are basically using old CPUs on a new platform. The real fun won't start until their new chips come out.

This is just a stepping stone to future performance. so far this is a very well designed mobo for being normal atx-sized.

Amd hasnt even mass produced their 65nm chips, so imagine this board with HT 3.0, and 65nm quad core at significantly higher clock speeds (than current amd chips) and with all of the other implementations, this makes for a great rig in the future. 8 cores + 4 liquid cooled 8800 gtx's potentially, plus virtually no limitations in the future.
