Look at the bottom right of the label for Batch#

Here is the article I found:
http://pc.ayumilove.net/list-of-intel-cpu-batch-number/

Is that the article you were talking about Ftw 420?

That's the one, take what you read there with a grain of salt.

I agree with ftw420, bacth number related overclocking has been fake on sandy, ivy, haswell. It did use to apply to bloomfield (i7 920) IIRC.

OP it could just be that you have a poor overclocker, if your failing after several minutes of 4.6ghz.

The article with the A, B, C stepping info is fiction, made up by a guy who has no clue what he is talking about.

Thanks for the info, I raised it to be sure there is not a value that is too low.
In the rest of the setting you don't see something that cud be avoiding me to OC more?

I also wanna be sure that it is the cpu and not eventually the motherboard.
Question will the new cpu (that substitutes 3930k e 3960x) coming in autumn be compatible with the same mobo?

Not every mobo fits I have stuck a 420x45mm xspc radiator under the top of my case, there is about 0,5 mm of space left wink.gif.
