Suggestions wanted - Haswell build

Heyy OCN,

Im going to be upgradiny my sig quite heavily.

Just looking for some criticism on the parts i've already got, what might need upgrading as well and some other possible suggestions.

Parts I already have;
HX1050 psu
2x 250gb ssds
2x wd green hdds

Parts list for new build:
Corsair 900D
Asus maximus VI extreme
Intel i5 4670k
Corsair vengeance 1866mhz red
2x palit 780gtx

I'm going to watercool this all pretty heavily, probably 2x 360 rads and 1x 120mm so thats why im going for the palit 780, i figure watercooling i dont have to worry about the cooler or anything on the card.
Want everything to be black and red as well so if any suggestions needs to fit in the theme.

Also future might go 4-way sli which is part of the reasoning to the maximus extreme.

Thanks OCN

Looks like you have everything figured out. I don't see any areas you can cut down on price without suffering performance loss.

Do you have any interest in the Gigabyte or the MSI boards? From what I have been reading (I ended up chosing the Xpower Z87) the price of the Asus board isn't justified when it comes to bios/board features, that MSI and Gigabyte have done a better job this time around. Just curious if there is something very specific you wanted out of it to justify the purchase.

I have no issue with the gigabyte boards, never used msi though so unsure on them, honestly half the reason for the maximus extreme is the colour scheme and the 4-way sli so if there's other boards out there with the red and black and the support for 4way sli then I would definitely consider them, I just haven't been able to find any. I'm not going to go overboard with my overclocks either, unsure what I'll get with gpus but cpu I'm happy with a stable 4.5ghz.

Another thing I wanted to ask, is it true going over 1866mhz with ram is basically pointless with haswell?

It seems like the Gigabyte boards are clocking the best this time around. As far as features go the Soundcard is much better in the Sniper 5 board than any others out there. Between the high end boards (Sniper 5, Xpower, VI Extreme) they all use the same PLX chip to make the quad SLI possible so not much change there. The MSI board has WiDi if you are into that at all. If you really want red and black the Asus should be fine, but if you want a board that gives you a little more for your money I would shoot for the xpower (Black and Yellow) or the Sniper 5 (Green and Black), also the Gigabyte OC Force is pretty great but the color combo is difficult (orange and black).

Sound I'm not overly worried about because will be getting a soundcard and stuff more than likely. Was looking at the oc force and sniper boards and I was the waterxooling built in looks cool, aesthetics again, I know it's pretty pointless because I'm not going for crazy overclocks. Think I'll just go with the Asus.
