if your lucky and if your board can supply enough voltage you can. someone claimed to have run 1ghz on a ddr2-800mhz. i can only max out on 870mhz with my ddr2-800mhz. im guessing its because my P5W maxes out vdimm at 2.4v.

its the cpu multiplier. like the e6600, the actual freq is 266, multiply that by 9 and you get 2400...or 2.4ghz.

It won't lower the lifespan of your memory as long as it is stable and you don't pump mass volts through it.

I am personally comfortable with running my ram 24/7 up to 2.4v w/active cooling. (I'd run 2.5v if my cpu could go higher and I had a maximizer) Some would say less volts so if you want to be really careful 2.25v i'd say is very safe.

BTW That 1/2gb HZ kit is VERY popular and as soon as it comes back in stock it gets sold out very quickly.

2: set FSB to 450 with a multiplier of 8= 3600Mhz or 3.6ghz

will one setting perform better than the other? such as 400fsbx9 vs 450fsbx8 ?
will one setting allow me to lower voltages on the cpu?
looking for the best performace for gaming.
sorry to hijack but what settings did you use to get 514fsb?

p5b only does 2.45v and for the actually micron chips you shouldn't even need that much to get that high. your problem is prolly related to chip more the vdimm. there are many out there though with the micron chips on their 800mhz ram running 1000+Mhz
