FX 8320 Ram Speed

Thread Starter
I'm having trouble getting my 8320 to run at 1866 MHz and it doesn't like me adjusting the FSB or north bridge speeds either. In fact if I adjust anything besides the core I have to clear CMOS and do an Indian rain dance to get it to boot again.

I have a Crosshair V Formula Z that is good for 300+fsb on my AM3 chips. Ram is Patriot Viper 3 1866 cas 9 1.5v, I've hit 2000mhz on the ram with no trouble on my intel computer.

Did you force the timings/voltage or use the DOCP/XMP option?
The IMC on these is a decent improvement, should be able to hit 1866 on the controller side without issues (mine uses 2133).

I didn't try either of those. I will give them a shot. I just clicked on higher strap in the BIOS.
