Laptop or Desktop?

Thread Starter
This is not a "should I get a laptop or desktop" thread, I already have both, however, my work style (which I would prefer not to change) and my workspace (again, no changes planned here) usually limit me to using either my laptop or my desktop, and since my desktop is hooked up to my monitors and keyboard and everything else, my laptop has been feeling kinda lonely.

Anyway, my desktop is a Core 2 Duo 2.83 GHz with 6 GB DDR2 Ram, 128 GB Intel SSD, 2 300 GB 7200 RPM WD Hard Disks, a ATi 5870, and a SB X-Fi sound card.
My laptop is a i5 (Ivy Bridge) with 2.7ish GHz (I can't remember), 4 GB DDR3 Ram, 500 GB WD 7200 RPM HD, a AMD 7570, and a random sound card.

My question to you all was whether or not I should essentially replace my desktop with my laptop. I can easily obtain a dock for the laptop so that I can hook it up to my 2 monitors and use my Logitech g510 keyboard with it ( I really dislike laptop keyboards).

Thanks.

EDIT: Both my desktop and my laptop are in my sig.

Personally if You don't need your desktop for anything in particular I would just make the laptop your main rig. With the dock its easy to move if you have want to work on the couch and you only have to keep your programs on one computer (less updating and stuff). Not sure what you would do with the desktop though.

I did the opposite in my case because i hardly used my macbook and I couldn't play games that well on it so I just donated it to my fiance and never really touch it.

That is what I was thinking. Since I play some games, I would want good graphical performance, and thusly, I was concerned whether or not the laptop would be able to keep up with the 5770 in the pc.

The HD 7570M is a lot slower than a desktop HD 5870, at least in 3D Mark. 7570M gets 830 mark score vs. the 5870 getting 4410 mark score.

http://community.futuremark.com/hardware/gpu/AMD+Radeon+HD+7570M/compare

The desktop would have higher framerates in games from my estimation.
