Camera won't turn on after being connected to windows

hello

i just recently had my canon ixus 210 connected to my windows 7 computer to watch the photos from uout vacation, when suddenly i get this message saying "windows photoshower does not support this format" and it closed the folders and everything i had open related to the camera.

now problem is, i can't turn the camera on, not when it's connected to the pc, or when it's not connected.

i am reeeaally afraid it has deleted out photos.

can anyone tell me what has happened here?

If you can't turn the camera on, I'd say something died with your camera. The being connected to your computer was probably just a coincidence.

i have an older camera, i swapped the sd cards, and it said that the sd card is locked.
when i connect the old camera to the pc, it doesn't recognise. the pc is a few months old, and quite high-powered.

Probably a coincidence. Doubt the PC has anything to do with it.

Take out the battery (or batteries if it doesn't use a rechargable) and the card on the camera. Make sure the data lock on the card is in the off position (this could be giving you the 'locked' message). Wait about a minute, put the battery/ies back in without the card (to start) and turn the camera on. If it says 'no card', then turn the camera off, insert the card and try. If it has an issue with the card after you've confirmed the card's lock tab is in the 'unlock'/off position, try another card. Could just be a corrupt card.
