I would recommend loading a new bios if there is an updated version and/or cleansweep your old audio drivers and install the latest ones. Report back and let me know if this works.

Correct method -

1. Helpful to use Revo uninstaller, cleansweep / CCleaner.
Ive done several re installs of windows in the past several months all times this problem occurred and was either resolved by re installing the operating system or (from what I just found out recently) resetting the CMOS. The board is running the latest BIOS revision and as for software all of the software on ASUS's website for this board and windows 8 are in beta however windows automatically installed all the software for it, nothing is missing in device manager.

Are you still having issues? I am curious if you got an add in sound card if your problem would go away. It seems you have interference with your speakers if you are still having recurring issues. Where are you located?

I created a new thread with my current problem. As I stated in this thread and in the new one my audio is processed via an Audioengine D1 DAC (problems existed both before and after the purchase of DAC) data to the DAC is routed as followed: Computer Motherboard --> Optical Tosslink --> astro a50 mixamp --> Optical Tosslink --> Audioengine D1 DAC --> Corsair SP2500
