is my Q6600 bottle necking my 760GTX 4GB - Page 2

short answer, YES a bottleneck.

if keeping the Q6600 (I suggest upgrade) then invest in better cooling and turn up the overclock to at least 3.6GHz if possible for you.
even then you will probably fall short but will be less of a bottleneck otherwise time to upgrade platform entirely.
note you will have to also get new RAM as well.

What was your Q6600 frequency? My Q6600 is OC'ed to 3,6GHz 1.4v and I'm running OC'ed GTX 470 without any problems. I'm runing a lot of games on maximum settings like Battlefield 3, Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider, Hitman Absolution, Need For Speed The Run, Need For Speed Most Wanted, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Batman Arkham City, Bioshock Infinite and more...

no offense bro but a GTX 470/560 is far different than a GTX 760/670...

I live in Toronto, Ontario.
I mostly go to Canada Computers.
I got the video card from Newegg.CA just because Canada Computers wanted the same amount of money for the 2 GB version of the 760

I was thinking of getting
Intel Core i5-4670K Quad-Core Processor
- Socket LGA1150, 3.4Ghz, 6MB L3 Cache, 22nm
- (Retail Boxed) Gen4 (BX80646I54670K)

ASUS Z87-PRO Socket 1150 Intel Z87 Chipset
- Dual Channel DDR3 2933(O.C.) MHz, 2x PCI-Express 3.0 x16
- Giga LAN, 8x SATA 6.0Gb/s, 8x USB 3.0, 8x USB 2.0
- Display Port/DVI/HDMI/D-Sub, ATX
Part no: Z87-PRO

Ram ?? I'm out of the game here.. I loved OCZ ram, well they don't make ram anymore. Anyone got any ideas what company over what company in terms of Warranty, quality?
Yes I am planning over overclock my new system, Any ideas on ram speed? does it even matter for overclocking?
How about my picks on hardware?
