First water cooling build Need some input - Page 2

Yeah unfortunately it doesn't look like a 360 will fit anywhere without some major cutting of the top.
I had recently seen a guy who did a C70 and has another 240 in the bottom of the case as well as the top. Squeezed in front of the power supply. If anything that will be what I go with likely.

Thanks for the heads up on the Sig. Looks better now I hope.

Wow delidding looks intense. I think I'll stick with some decent water cooling and changing my solution every 6 to 9 months. That scares the ever living crap outta me lol
Thanks for all the responses so far folks.
I have been updating my build log quite a bit as well
Go have a look.

How much cutting would be involved to go to a 280 rad? It is 39200 vs 28800 mm of surface area where as a 360 rad is 43200 so a 280 isn't much smaller than a 360 but may be easier to mod into that case. It might not fit at all I am just throwing it out there.

Delidding was very easy on my 3570K I could not find a place to get the razor to slip in on my 4770K. I returned the 4770K because the motherboard I bought sucked and I had to drop another $100 on a board I liked so I had to drop down to a 3670K... I am going to try to delid it tomorrow... with a blade. If you are careful there isn't much to worry about. I feel that the vise method is less in your control but seems to be easier to do and harder to mess up if you are careful LOL careful slamming a piece of wood into a CPU with a hammer smile.gif

Cooling solutions are not doing that great of a job getting the heat out of the core and into the water because of how small the DIE is and the way the lids are put on... think of it like insulation...
