Asus mobo got ligning strike problem

Thread Starter

So as much i did understand from a friend that after storms we had in my country  his net port simply stoped working.Does not even show driver or device as network adapter. Is there chance to fix it  or is it 100% unfixable. When i builded PC for him i was made sure to get high quality PSU  with all possible protections. From he,s told info rest of things works perfectly.

Or simply add PCI Lan network card without worry that somthing else might get wrong ?

If there was a surge in the LAN cable then yeah it could fry the onboard NIC. If it stopped working yes youll have to get a add in NIC card.

Make sure to use a surge protector on the PSU, as for the LAN surge problem only thing I know of is some Battery backup UPS systems have a LAN surge port on them, my 99 dollar one has it.
