Way to control molex fan speed?

Thread Starter
I have this ram and cooler http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231638 the cooler is just unbearable for noise.

the cooler uses molex and I was wondering if there is a way to control the speed of the fan through some sort of adapter even if I can only set it to one static speed.

Or is it possible to still have it function by cutting off the molex and soldering on a pwm connector and connecting to motherboard?

You can mod the pins in molex:

If you hook this up to a 3-pin fan with a combined Molex/3-pin connection and run the fan in RPM Mode it will duplicate the speed variation, but you need to run it at full speed first to get it going.
