Officially? Not that I can see given the Chromecast app thingy. I'm sure down the road you'll be able to but as far as I can tell you're limited to YouTube, Netflix, and Google Music / TV on mobile devices (at least with my Nexus 7).

I wonder though, it can't be difficult for someone to come up with an app that will do it. There are apps (ES File Explorer) that let you access shared files that are on your desktop/NAS. All we need then is an app that can do that and Chromecast those files wink.gif Not sure what it would take, I'm guessing you might actually be able to do this already if you're able to Chromecast videos that are on your phone.

While it may not come directly from your phone, it does work with local files (on a computer share, or network share) and has been tested by several already.

Because you can also browse local media and network shares with chrome (file:///some path to media here) it will play all the content on your local device or your network shares, using any codec that Chrome understands – and that is a lot. It looks like this is the minimalist streaming device we have been waiting for.

Basically you need a App in your phone that can stream music/videos/photos from you PC or Server. Then from there you need that App to be able to cast. Thats the best solution.
