Frame rate problem with PS3?

This is the first I heard of something like this. I must admit that I don't run around looking for PS3 (or any system for that matter) reviews, but if I come across a comparison review I generally peek in to see different reviewers takes on the 3 systems.

Now to be honest with you I was amazed to see these words in print. And honestly did a reread about 3 times.

Even though these are first gen games, seeing somebody actually call out a noticeable drop in frames is something that shouldn't happen with a $600 system.

Or is it just the reviewer?

Oh and I know this is something that will be ironed out in time. But still, $600= lower frame rates?

Most first-gen PS3 games have frame-rate problems.

They tell game dev's "you can do this and this and this so it looks better...maybe a little slower" but i would not get a PS3 till they hit the $250 price range.

The framerate on that offroad racing game was low enough that I found it very hard to control. Im too used to the 100FPS+ that this X1900XT cranks out.
