First Watercooling/Custom Loop [another :P] - Page 4

Just 1 monitor, the GPU usage lowers and all that as it should, so no issues there.

The load temps I cant really test without AC. I mean, I could try, but the rad is unmovable without draining it, and the AC.. I'd rather not turn it off... heh. Maybe I can try that tomorrow.

But the problem is if I can keep it at like 40C max, then 1300MHz is "error free" in OCCT [Its artifact free in games, at least until 45]. Otherwise 1275 is my next stable, error free level. I'd love to see what this card could do on something like LN2. Its capable of 1300MHz @ 1.2v, and 1200 @ 1.125v, 1100 @ 1.05v, -- its almost exactly 75mV per 100MHz + 225mV [The numbers are rough, its more like 1132mV@1200MHz, for example] but thats off tangent lol

So yeah, the temps arent bad. I'd just like to see a 40C max load temp rather than 45C. I have another rad I havent put into the loop yet, but im not sure it will aid at all. Its a Monsta 120mm Rad. It wont get direct AC- so I expect slightly higher idle temps and slightly lower load temps.

Basically since its an FT-02, once I have the watercooling parts in the case [currently external, havent cut the areas of the case that need to yet], it will be a Alphacool 3x180MM rad intake on the bottom with AC feed, and then on the exhaust slot, a push/pull Alphacool Monsta 120mm.

You got a lucky card, my max stable at 1.2V is 1150/1525. What are your VRM temps? I bet you will hit limits with your VRMs before anything else since they are not watercooled. I could be wrong, plus I know the temp sensors for VRMs are not reliable.

Really? I keep reading everyone on water getting 1300 no problem :/.

VRM temps are actually quite nice. Using stock VRM plate but with Fujipoly pads, temps pushed >110 [throttle] in OCCT at just about any config. Had to go to like 1000mV/1000core to get it to stabilize ~108/103c on VRM1/2.

However I took the fans off of the Vapor-X and mounted them on the card [with the plastic shroud and all, nothin fancy], here is OCCT @ 1275MHz/1200mV

Looks like it might have pushed up a few more degrees worst case. Plus, games seem to cap around 65c IIRC. No more than 75c, for sure.

-- Im dumb, should have clicked Fit Y.

VRM1 was 100c at the end
VRM2 was 85c
Core was 44c
1275MHz
1.070v [Yeah, lots of droop redface.gif]

Tested BF3, pushed it to 70C on VRM1. Again, might have gotten a couple more degrees given a triple the testing time or something, but its close enough. I dont think 70C should be hurting my overclocking potential, right?

Core pushed to 46c, but I have the fans on rad set to 600RPM, and pumps on 40%. I didnt really see any artifacts, but I know OCCT would be telling me im getting 20000 artifacts/interval at that temp lol.

Any ideas? Is it normal or should a paste re-application help?
