g600 problem

Thread Starter
My razer naga started to have the double click issue so i decided to go back to an old favorite.. logitech mice. I ordered my g600, plugged it in and nothing happened. The software wont even pick it up. Ive tried everything. When i try to update the drivers manually from device manager i get "the configuration registry database is corrupt". I decided to look online for answers. Ive tried command prompt running dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth then rebooted. Then i ran sfc /scannow and was told windows could not find any errors. I ran sfc/scannow three more times and nothing. Im still getting the same error. Im running windows 8 64.

Ive called logitech, and they asked me to send them a copy of my system information and they would call me back. I got an email saying they needed another 24 to 48 hours because they dont know what the problem is.

I made a new partition on my hdd and loaded that with a copy of windows 7. The mouse was detected no problem, and the software let me configure the mouse. After that, i wiped that partition clean and installed windows 8. Guess what? The software wouldnt pick it up, and i was getting the same error as before.

Im guessing that i dont have a reg error, and its just logitech being terrible with windows 8. I also plugged in my g19 and it wont recognize it on windows 8 either. Whats the deal???

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Im almost tempted to return it and get another naga. Its a shame, because i like the feel of the g600. Im all out of ideas on how to fix this problem. Any help or a point in the right direction would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Windows 8 is your problem. It's a problem for everyone. Just use 7..
