Removing unnecessary Widows 8 partitions?

Thread Starter
So I just bought a laptop with Windows 8 installed - and it has 4 partitions (1 of them is recovery, 1 main, idk what the others are for).

Can I get rid of some of these partitions to make more space on my HDD? I have a 500GB 5400RPM HDD, but I'm transferring the OS to a smaller 128gb or 160gbSSD so I'll need every GB I can get.

Which ones are safe to get rid of?

Well... find out what those other partitions are for in the first place..... no one can tell you what to do otherwise.

Is there a ~350MB partition before C:? If so, this is the Windows Reserve Partition: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/gg441289.aspx
