Is this a golden 3770k? - Page 5

So the processor I replaced it with I've had since December - bought it for $200 from Tigerdirect, never used it 'till now.

It runs hotter though, by about 10c compared to the previous chip despite the .04v drop.

Really up to you. It does seem like my batch week had good turnout based on a few other chips also in that batch from this thread, but in the end it's a lottery. The batch is also sure to have duds.

In regard to the other processor that I'm fiddling with now, it's batch #3226C188, and seems to need very low volts up until x48. Still seems to need less than the first chip, but the gap closes. As I said it also seems to run hotter, but I can't be sure whether or not it's due to a difference in the chip or the TIM. I don't know what the guy from Craigslist used so I can't get a straight comparison there, and I ran out of IC7 as I was applying it to this one so I might not've applied it that well either.

Either way, this is how the clocks ended up.

Undervolt:

Overclocks:

Not even going to try 5GHz with those temps, though I'm sure under better cooling conditions it'd hit it no problem.

So now I can't decide which one to keep.

Using both EIST and DVID have given me some crazy numbers in CPU-Z...

http://valid.canardpc.com/thn5kg (5GHz / 1.224v)

http://valid.canardpc.com/81phy8 (5GHz / 0.936v)

devil.gif

0.924v @5GHz is the lowest voltage I've seen, but my reactions are slow haha, plus for some reason, when I make a bunch of validation files they seem to all go to the same validation as the first one unless I use a different name.

Also, I highly doubt these are accurate numbers and are probably caused by a glitch or delay, but I can replicate them over and over again.
