Just installed Intel 120GB SSD, some questions

Hey guys. I've never used a SSD before and people are saying with my type of rig I would benefit from one so I decided why not got some left over summer money. So far it's amazing boot times are lighting fast and overall the PC is just faster, I have a few questions though. Should I delete the old windows 7 boot/data from my HDD or leave it there? Also how much space should I leave free, 3rd of all what do you suggest I dl on my ssd and what I should download on my HDD. Cheers

You can just plug in your old HDD and use the apps you have already on that drive. I was too lazy to install a bunch of games when I got a new computer. I just plugged in an older drive which had most of my collection and I am able to use that, even though windows is installed on that drive. As for free space, that is up to you. Try not to run out.

I would recommend to install most games to the old hard drive. Hard drive space runs out quick depending on who you are I would only install a handful of games on the SSD, the ones that you think will benefit the most or your favorites. Install most applications on the SSD. Put the media in the old hard drive as well.

How big is the SSD? I'd suggest leaving a 15-30Gb partition if it's 128Gb or above to help prolong it's life a bit.

In terms of stuff to put on it, applications, Don't put files on it, just a waste. rolleyes.gif

What applications do you use the most? Of them which are slow to open? Put whatever you feel would benefit from the speed, your web browser, a few of your most played games, it's up to you really biggrin.gif
