"A disk read error occurred" ssd dead?

Thread Starter
Not sure this is in the right place, but my computer is an amd rig. Booted my computer up today and got the dreaded disk read error. Tried unplugged my regular HDD and just booting to my SSD: disk read error. Any thoughts? Is my ssd fried? Any known fixes? Any help is appreciated and I thank you all in advance for any insight

Can you boot from a different disk? Tried using different sata ports?

do you have access to a copy of hiren's boot cd? it can be used to boot the pc and do diagnostics on the drive..may just have lost formating... I've had trouble with SSD's randomly losing data in the "boot sector" before... its worth a try to boot using a "rescue" disk or preferable hiren's boot cd... it has lots of useful tools http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd
