The AF has gotten the worst of all this stuff so far. The crackdown has been going on a couple years now. We have multiple days a year we shut down for, or have some all-day manditory SAPR training. But, I get it. There's no denying the DoD has a serious problem.

I still wonder how this game could be even remotely related to the issue. I think this might be one of those programs that uses a different medium with the same material to make it seem "cool" or "new".

Trust me it's not just the AF, all branches have been going through the "crackdown" and mando SAPR training.

PS. There is SOOO many misconceptions of the military. I love reading threads like this, people spew out some serious nonsense.

How is this supposed to help with the problem of sexual assaults?

Well, if you install a Kinetic everywhere, given Microsoft's complance with the NSA on spying, well, you can see that it should cut down on sexual assults if they are everywhere and the government is always watching. biggrin.gif

police "show me on the avatar where he touched you"

victim "im not very good with this thing"

police "did he touch you in your right arm?"

victim "no i just dont play video games and i cant aim, he touched my vagina"

police "im not sure what you mean by that can you just show me on the avatar where he touched you. please comply with our new system as its very hard for us to understand what you are saying when you use words and common language"

ATTENTION!!!! (/salutes) LOL

I'm not afraid to admit my fiance scares the crap out of me lol! Ya damn right I'm staying in line. She already told me she'd kill me as well as the other girl if I ever cheated on her. At one point she even "had a talk" with a hooters waitress who got too friendly with me. Bish don't play!!!

The rest of society is not isolated in such conditions.

That example clearly does not apply.

These are grown adults who are aware of their decision to commit the act.

And yeah, men get sexually assaulted to. So what's your point?

I never said that sexual assault was a good thing.

I am not rationalizing, these people are clearly in an isolated environment and rules/codes/ethics quickly get pushed aside when out of our normal social environment.

Environments play a huge role in how in our behavior and perceptions.

I am merely saying to avoid such heinous acts, maybe we should try a more Psychological approach.

These military servicemen do not sign up to go on a ship for months at at time with the intention of raping any women they see.

Everybody has different psychological thresholds and some clearly cannot withstand the strain of the isolated environment.

The easiest way is prevention.
The easiest and most reliable prevention is segregating genders from ship to ship, at least until we have a more reliable way to prevent such acts.

When I was a kid I took a break from computers to go be a Marine, and love these threads as well. All I'm going to say is, for every hard-charging, motivated Woman Marine, there are another 10 whose immoral personal conduct practically reinforces an environment of epidemic sexual assault and harassment.

Seriously, some of what willingly occurs in those barracks would make the most perverse porn movie seem tame in comparison.

Well, part of the problem is that society fails to cope with realism. The key to this problem is that war is, by nature, barbaric and unforgiving. It doesn't fit the nice neat package of politically correct, no matter much you want to push LOAC, brute force is still just that. Hence, one prepared for combat in the millitary isn't going to have the same mentality as the guy handing you a fresh Mocha at your local Starbucks.
