i7 3770k @ 4.8ghz... If I turn off HT can I leave the voltage as it is currently?

Thread Starter
I'm doing offset voltage and under full load my CPU uses 1.376-1.384v with HT on.

I'm going to disable HT.

Would I be okay leaving the voltage setting as it is and just turning the HT off?

You might be able to use a bit less vcore with HT off, but if the rig is fine with the vcore as is with HT, turning off HT & leaving the vcore as it is will also be OK.

correct. turning off ht might make the rig more stable even. as the other poster has said, dropping the HT will make the chip require less volts so if your rock stable at that voltage already with ht on you should be golden and able to drop down just a hair on the vcore

I would settle for 4.7Ghz with HT than 4.8Ghz with no HT... You bought a 3770K for a reason afterall..

I was thinking the exact same thing, or he could just sell it and settle for a 3570K @ 4.8Ghz and increase his rams
