More power, yes, but 620w is plenty still.
About scaling, I 100% agree with you. OP will have to do a bit of research there to figure out which games he wants to play, and how the scaling is.
And about i7s, again, I agree with you. However, if OP ever decides to do something else they can be useful. He could, of course, swap out for a 4570k and grab the 256GB, but that might be a bit of a waste as most people don't really use much more than 500GB or so for gaming machines.
