media pc rig upgrade

Thread Starter
Right now it has a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 chip in it, and not sure if I should switch it to my current desktop (A6-3670k) setup since I am looking at upgrading my main rig to an i5 setup. Does the A6 rank higher then the Q6600, or is the Q6600 better ?

I use the media pc mostly for watching movies, streaming netflix/hulu, but occasionally play WoW, Diablo3, or Minecraft (couple times a month at most).

The A6 - 3670K appears to be, on paper, better than the Q6600. If you don't have a dedicated video card in your HTPC, then A6 will give you a very significant improvement in integrated graphics compared to the Q6600, which doesn't have an onboard GPU. If I understand your question correctly and if you already have a 3670K and plan to upgrade your main rig to an i5 anyways, then go for it.
