It began with the forging of the Great Processors. Three were given to the Workstations, immortal, wisest and fairest of all computers. Seven to the Desktops, great gamers and craftsmen of the office documents. And nine, nine processors were gifted to the race of Laptops, who above all else desire power.
For within these processors was bound the strength and the will to govern each system. But they were all of them deceived, for another processor was made. Deep in the land of Intel, in the Fires of Mount St. Helens, the Dark Lord Otellini forged a master processor in secret, and into this processor he poured his cache, his malware and his will to dominate all systems. One processor to rule them all....

Ahahahah.... biggrin.gif:D

I'm really hoping this more power means they are going to make Retina standard. I got my MBA when sandy bridge was released and have been waiting for the next gen processors to upgrade. Not that I use my MBA for heavy duty stuff, but my only complaint is the HD3000 is terribly underpowered. I think I still would have preferred a dedicated card, but I will just reserve judgement once benchmarks are released.

They should drop the pro tag and just go back to macbook and macbook air and in a year or two they will merge into one model as light as the air with high res display and insane graphics power with 500gb ssd base config available in 11, 13 and 15 inch. I know they'll never fit the same power in an 11 or 13 inch chassis as in the 15 inch, but just a general idea here / wishful thinking.

Ya, i'm also thinking this could be at the cost of a discrete GPU.

That's fine for air's but a highly clocked GT3e is only a replacement for a low-end nvidia/AMD solution. I'd rather see battery life parity than increase it in exchange for performance.

well, 13" rMBP 2012 had a HD 4000, so a GT3e would be a massive upgrade, and the GT650M used in 15" rMBP2012 is a low end nvidia solution so most likely the performance will be the same. It is the same story as MBA 2013 vs MBA 2012, MBA 2013 have slightly less CPU performance but significantly more battery life and you don't see many people complain about that.

Wasn't a hd4000 only in 13 rMBP? I think you have to compare nvidia 750m vs Intel integrated for the next gen. 15 rMBP. Sure it would be an upgrade in a mac 13 but a huge step backward for the new 15 rMB -Pro. A bit depressing for any video/3d/post user. What's so pro about it at the end? Design? Facebook/Twitter/Mail/Office people could easily replace it with an iPad.
