Ok this is my last new thread and sorry for the other Im trying to learn about this server and got many questions.

First off, this server use a pcie raid card to run 2x250gb hard drives. The motherboard has 2xSATA ports as well, would it be possible to stick SSD on one of these port and use for a boot drive. If it is possible how would I power it because im not seeing a sata power attached to the PSU.

Second I don't need a ton of storage for what im using this for but I would like to be able to run 2x1TB Drives in place of the 250gb drives, but the specs fpr the server say max storage of 1TB via 2x500gb drives. Has anyone ever tried using drives bigger than what they claim to be the max because ive seen from google searchs these same server using 2x1TB drives.

ok so I took it upon myself to try it out, I used my desktop with one of my sata cable to power a drive I had laying around, and the server recognized it, good news, so im just going to buy a splitter for the current ones coming off my psu going to my drives. There is no extra place for a hard drive to be mounted but there is room to lay one ontop of my dvd drive, that's why ill either need a SSD or laptop drive.

If I were to use my Samsung 840 non pro drive as a boot drive for my server, will it be ok sitting loose ontop of my dvd drive and how good are the Samsung 840 non pros for being on 24/7 in a server setting?
