Best Sound Card for modmic?

I recently got a modmic and m50s, but the modmic is not compatible with my creative audigy SE. What's a good sound card below the $100 range that would be both an improvement and be compatible with my modmic?

Mic is not compatible with a sound card? What exactly do you mean?

I plug it in and it's not recognized by windows. I'm currently using my onboard for my mic and my sound card for my headphones instead.

try plugging in the modmic into your sound card.
try updating your onboard Realtek ALC892's drivers and or firmware if applicable.
make sure the onboard audio's mic input in your Sound control panel is enabled and properly working. select it and set as default.
depending on your modmic model, maybe its just not compatible with your motherboard. I spot a couple board with the ALC892 chip listed under not working.

The onboard IS working, it's just the sound card's mic input isn't. I know it's the modmic because I was just using the sound card for my old headset

I'm having the same problem. It's driving me nuts. Any mic I plug into my E-MU 0404 USB works fine. My ECM-8000 works fine. Even headphones work fine as mics with it. Just the Modmic isn't. I've tried anything. TRS > 2x TS adaptor ; TRS > XLR ; 48V, nothing works.

It is really frustrating using onboard (noisy junk) audio instead of a good soundcard.

Did anyone figured it out?

I'm using the ModMic 2.0

Many thanks!
