I've been looking around to upgrade my computer for about ~$250, and could get an i5 2500K + decent motherboard, or just keep my AMD setup and just get an HD7950 or something.

What do you guys think? I just play some Minesweeper Battlefield 3, GTA IV + ENB, and Crysis 3.
Not really looking to sell my hardware, as locals don't really care about PC gaming here.

Thanks guys. thumb.gif

Looking for the best FPS increase? I think the GPU will give you that, I still believe AMD GPU's are perfectly fine for gaming and its not really worth going Intel for strictly gaming, BUT to each his own.

AKA; 7950 gets my vote! thumb.gif

7950 will give you something like 60% more performance than a 6870. Overclock the 6300 a bit, go with a 7950 or 660/Ti, I'd say. What resolution do you play at? If it's 1080p you'll definitely notice the difference.. 1600x900 and it just won't seem like a big boost for most games.

Ah yes, 1080p; the 6300 is already overclocked to 4.5. smile.gif

With that OC you should be good to go with a 7950 thumb.gif

Definitely will give you better improvement than going Intel would.
