As far as i know the spawn is the only mouse which comes close to the G9x. If you happen to be disappointed with it I would get another spare G9x.
What's ninja grip?
Ninja Grip is my other way of explaining the claw grip to people when I don't have a (good) picture for reference, haha. The way I hold my mouse is close to my guarding stance for some of the fighting disciplines I practice.

Yes actually but it depends on how high the button is raised. It's quite prominent on the G100S and the way that I engage my scroll wheel or shift my hand during certain actions would trigger it.

My suggestion would be to try a Roccat Kone Pure and a Zowie EC2. Both have been outstanding for me since my last g9x gave it up (I had 3-4 of them since the G9). I would try the Kone Pure first, especially since it's wheel is much better than the zowie.

I keep considering Roccat and Zowie as I see the names tossed around quite a bit. My main deterrent is shipping; ordering and then having to ship it back, unless there's a few more that I can try via ship to store but with the wait time for that on average, it's better to just have it come to my residence (Don't want to sound impatient I just don't have a lot of space to store things right now
I also have a rather complicated schedule so getting to a postage office is a real hassle sometimes. )
A thought that crossed my mind was getting the Naga Hex/Wraith and just plasti-dipping the top of the mouse to get rid of the plastic-like feel ad slipperiness.

400-800 are very solid, hitting over 4 m/s.
The only downside to the Savu imo is that it's a very picky mice surface wise. On some surfaces it can occasionally skip, so if you do end up liking the mouse and you're using 400 or 800 dpi and it skips, don't worry about the mouse, worry about getting the right mousepad to go with the mouse. Alot of people had great success with the Puretrak pads.
While I do agree to an extent, I also use a device called an 'XIM' from time to time so I actually benefit from all of the senselessly high DPI settings that mice have now. One thing that is odd to me, not really a detriment is how the (recent) Optical implementations can't adjust to actual custom CPI's, say, 1000 DPI/CPI @ 500hz (what I'm usually at when I'm on PC). Maybe I'm just not understanding them, I do realize that to an extent interpolation would be involved if there were to be a way to do this, but, who knows.

I hope so. Still confused on whether the M40 and M65 are the same size, just from the specs sheets I found the M65 has slightly different dimensions. If I like it enough I may look at modification options if need be. I just don't want to force myself onto something and 'make do' with it, and ultimately end up being unhappy in the long run.
I was told about the Maurus X but could not find any retailers; Amazon says it will be available in 1-2 weeks, then checking back again they say 1-2 months. Very weird.

That saying I do not like the shape of G400/MX518.
Actual I use a shortened Recon with a lot of grip tape.
It really is incomprehensible why no manufacturer can offer a reasonable mouse (that fit perfectly to me).
I love the ugly RAT shape. But they messed up the usage of the A3090 in the RAT 3.
I am sitting in the same boat and unfortunately I could not help you.
Strange, though I believe she may have also opened hers up once or twice so I'm not really sure of the state it's in.
I saw your thread of removing the back of the recon

I'd try to do a mod like that but I'm unsure about a lot of things aside from my modding ability, haha.
I updated my original post with my info about the RAT7, you mentioning the RAT3 reminded me of that. I didn't try the 3 or the 5 but I'm sure if they were all lighter, they'd be excellent mice. They do seem to have a bit of quality control issues though.@Everyone
Thanks for all of the input so far!
I appreciate your time and actually like the insight from others as well, even if they did not have a recommendation
