APM safe to use?

Just built a FX-6300 build for a friend with the specs below. In the only two games i've tested so far the 6300 is bottlenecking his 760 a little. The two games are GW2 and BF3. GW2 is bottlenecked more so than BF3. Anyhow i don't want to OC for him incase anything were to go wrong. I'd rather him learn and i could help him some. So in a sense i'm trying to use the Turbo frequency to help him out because boosting to 3.8ghz during stressful apps really helps lessen that bottleneck until he's ready to OC later down the road. I just want to know that it's safe. Switching between BF3 and GW2 and different scenarios CPU voltage never went above 1.40v (1.392) even though i have it set at 1.250 i guess APM overrides my manual setting to fluctuate the power and frequency.

Asrock 970 Extreme4
FX 6300
Gigabyte 760 OC
8Gb GSkill Sniper series DDR3 1866 9-10-9-28/2T
Corsair CX600

Also what's the deal with coretemp and vishera? Keeps reporting false idle/load temps. Displaying idle around 10-18C and load around 30C. When checking the ASrock utility it's idle 30C load 42C so far so no worries but still, wonder why it's reading wrong?

Your only option is to overclock all cores to 4.1Ghz and turn off turbo boost. Ideally, even at stock it shouldn't be bottle-necking that card. What resolution is he playing at? Does his cpu usage stay at 100% with the gpu usage less than in the 90's?

I only played GW2 and BF3 @ 1920x1080 at my house while i was home for the weekend. Was getting around pretty even usage in BF3 on both the CPU and GPU. 75-90% with it running 3.5Ghz. When boosted to 3.8 the 760 noticeably stayed higher and reached upper 90s sometimes. In GW2 GPU usage would jump all over the place depending on the situation, increased the lower framerate drops with it at 3.8Ghz on GW2.

Though my brother called me today once i got back to college and said while playing GW2 the display, mouse/KB stopped working. So i told him to reset CMOS and it's back up and running. I assume it's APM that did it? I didn't have it overclocked and had the voltage at 1.250 with a multiplier of 17x and a boost multiplier of 19.5x as it states. All power saving features off as well. Memory running at stock frequencies 1.5v 1866 9-10-9-28/2T.
