Theres a big bottleneck on my G80, even with my QX6700 at 3.2ghz.
So, The G80 is more than capable of handling crysis, processors are just gonna hold it back.
My quad core and G80 have frame issues in rainbow six vegas for some reason BTW, which is 1/2 of crysis.
Might be poorly made.
Again, Dx10's best feature is its ability to instance function calls without making calls to the processor. This keeps the calculation onboard, away from any bus or CPU cycle that would cause as much of a bottleneck.
I really think that Crytek is taking this into consideration with their Crysis package, and will probably be able to push 8-series cards as hard as they can go, without causing a total CPU bottleneck like in games such as Oblivion today.
