GTX 780 Overclocking 'issue'?

Thread Starter
So I've gotten myself a new rig including a GTX780 and a 4770k.

I'm sitting here in Afterburner and trying to overclock it. I know there's some kind of 'turbo-mode' in these new cards. How the hell does this work?

When the card reaches my actual clock Mhz, it's at 1110Mhz. But Even in Furmark stresstest, the clockmhz drops to 862 which is the stock clockrate without turbo.... Stock turbo is 902mhz or something.
(This is my card, Swedish website though. http://www.netonnet.se/art/dator/komponenter/grafikkort/nvidia-pci-e/gigabyte-gtx7803gb/189006.7063/ )

My PSU is a 650W XFX 80+ Bronze. So i think it should be enough? I had a Phenom2 965 and a GTX 580 before, both overclocked, so it really shouldnt be the PSU being the issue as both these items are more higher on power usage(I believe).

Also my drivers arent crashing nor is my computer blackscreening (Which is if i remember correctly is the GPU crashmark.)...

Edit: My Nvidia settings is set on "prefer maximum performance" and not "adaptive".

Edit2: Bottomline what im asking, How the F*ck do i control the turbo? It seems to be living its own life and not giving me the frequency i want when i want it, for example in stresstests and Scoretests such as Heaven or 3Dmark/11.

Edit3: Could it be Afterburner that's just fooling me? I've never had this before, but i guess it shouldnt be ruled out yet.

Easiest thing to do is just flash the BIOS to one where Turbo is disabled. With that BIOS you can also overvolt higher. I'm not sure what goes in with Afterburner, but it always shows slightly different clocks that GPU-Z does, but it still overclocks my card fine. And here is a guide how to flash. You will need to reinstall your VGA driver after flashing more than likely since it will think it's a different card.
