I made this thread for old forgotten PC games. List some old pc games that you enjoy so others can as well.
Some of my favorites
Tomb Raider 2
This is one of the first pc games I played. The controls are little frustrating but the puzzles are fun and hard. This is far from Gods or war or assassins creed, their are no hints, the first time I played this game I spent hours on one level.
Duke nukem 3d.
I first played this game when I was 9. Funnest shooter of its time.
Quake 2.
Action packed alien shooter. What more can you want.
DOOM
KICK ASS demon shooter. The whole series is bad ass. Get DOOM 95 witch has 4 different series with in it.
Heretic.
Doom was fun but when that got boring I started playing heretic.
Unreal tournament
A true FPS test.
I've completed escape from butcher bay so many times, I love everything about it, yet it always seemed nobody had ever heard of it. In some areas of the game you can get really absorbed into it.
Serious Sam HD. I only play it occasionally but it's a fun, really challenging co-op game with ridiculously cool level design and weapons. Co-op games have been lacking this lately.
RPGs in general are forgotten by many... I fear for them. Just look at all the Witcher praise, that's just another nail in the coffin. They used to be the dominant presence in PC gaming, and they should be, but they no longer are and have been slowly parting as a result.
It´s made like a movie, you see your body, you can choose how to act and solve problems, the story is very interesting and the fights are very immersive.
I´d recommend Riddick 2 - Dark athena because it is Riddick 2 plus the first gane in a new graphic engine.
Tomb Raider 2 was my VERY FIRST PC game I ever played... I remember I saw the demo for it on fileplanet and me, with my shiny brand new emachines my parents had just bought me... figured I'd give it a spin, the game ran ok and I didn't understand why it was lagging. Now fast forward to a few months later and I had upgraded the vid card, gotten speakers with a subwoofer and after only around 8 months after that, I built my first PC. Then my love with PC gaming was on full force.
Crazy to think that TR2 was what introduced me to PC gaming. I am so glad that it did though.
do you guys remember the game HOMEWORLD. I had that game but could never really play it with our old walmart PC we got back in like 97--2001. anyone play that???
So glad someone posted Riddick. Don't know if you guys know this but that game was made for the original Xbox and god DAMN the graphics looked amazing on that thing. Really pushed the machine to its absolute limits. What a great game... played that thing maybe 7-8 times straight back to back. Only other game I did that with was Res Evil 4... original fable was close.
Condemned : Criminal Origins. It is slightly worse than original FEAR but it is very unknown.
It was an ok games and if you played original FEAR and liked it, I recommend this one.

Jedi knight dark forces 2, the vertigo inducing ledges and drops!
Carmageddon (not so much forgotten with the recent IOS and Android releases)
Carmageddon 2 multiplayer was hilarious if a little buggy, lets see if the new Reincarnation game can live up to this.
Original Destruction Derby
Megarace 2, although trackmania can bring this sensation back.
I'm sure this will end up less as "forgotten games" and more "just older games"... because new gamers simply won't have played some real classics that still have yet to be beaten. I do agree with Mailman 377; Freespace 2 was one of the best space sims of all time. Even now, its nebulae are jaw dropping in their beauty.
I-War 2: Edge of Chaos is another game that is often forgotten. Doesn't look great now, but it was impressive at the time - Newtonian physics opened up whole new ways of engaging in combat in space.
Baldurs Gate. When I think of my entry into PC gaming, this is one of them, loved it.
Does anyone else remember this?
