OMG i am hating on this board!!!

so i managed to get like 3.51 stable 3.6 on stock

i have a e6600 and 2 gigs of gskill ram
this was based on alot of hep onn overclock.net users

sdumper , chozart , IRA-k and im sorry for pple i forget or leave out

it has some serious probs with above 400 fsb man could be overheatings.

975 chipset on this board seems buggy

this board not totally living up to my expect

i mean my dream was 3.73 ghz ( yeah i actually had a dream about it )
clock... what to do now... i've been working on this rig for over a month on my spare time

multiple sad faces

memory and FSB are important too ( i do alot of rendering so memory bandwidth is like right there with cpu importance.

i tried replacing the NB heatsink and im still getting problems

i think i might burn it. LOL

I feel your pain, I'm stuck at FSB356 myself. You might find this thread from the XtremeSystems forums helpful.

in response

im on watercool for teh cpu and gpu

i got 4 panaflo fans

so the cpu is probably at 28 last time i checked

the chipset temps are read from the SB but on the stock heatsink i got 3.51 stable at 400 fsb.

i know that at one point asusbooster was reading 50C on the NB

the northbridge runs pretty hot on this board and that bothers me

anything above 3.51 and i get slow access reads from drives

( drives will click on DURING post eep.)

my xp will take a little longer to boot as well ( but thats irrelevant if a higher clock speed can be achieved

i bought a zalman heatsink ( the blue one that looks like a shell with fins spreading outward ) to replace the stock heatsink. i put some ramsinks on the mosfets as well. i am just really dissappointed with this board. the bios is still young and im debating whether a pencil mod or voltage mod will be worth the addl monies. i might just get a new board. im that irritated.
